2019 World Rowing Sustainability Award | Spring Creek Regeneration Project

Published Wed 08 Jan 2020

In November 2019, the Spring Creek Regeneration Project were awarded the 2019 World Rowing Sustainability award. The Spring Creek Regeneration Project is a collaboration of both Kinross Wolaroi School (KWS) and the Orange City Council, established and driven by the Master in Charge of Rowing, Tobias Wehr-Candler at KWS. The project focuses on conserving the local biodiversity and maintaining ecosystem function; whilst having a positive impact on the surrounding lands and waterways. Many of the rowers and family of rowers from KWS volunteered to be a part of the project in removing non-native trees and weeds and planting native species to regenerate the Spring Creek area.
