2020-2021 Rowing NSW Regatta Calendar

Published Fri 17 Jul 2020

Rowing NSW is excited to release the current draft of the 2020/2021 regatta calendar. We look forward to bringing back racing to the community following the abrupt end to last season. Due to public health orders changing and restrictions on mass gatherings evolving the 2020/2021 regatta is subject to change and adapt to meet these requirements and still provide safe racing opportunities.
The current order of events and regatta day schedules as we known them will be revised to suit the conditions of the time. We will endeavour to advise clubs and schools of these changes with as much notice as possible

The team at Rowing NSW has worked to maintain consistency of dates and regattas where possible, providing an array of racing opportunities in Metro Sydney, the South Coast, Northern Rivers and Central Districts. With the Olympics moving to 2021 we have been working with the Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC) to accommodate national, state, school and club rowing interests in amongst other sporting body interests.

For the first time since 2009 we will be hosting all Head of the River regattas on the same weekend. This has been done to allow the school season to be completed prior to nationals for those schools wishing to compete in Tasmania and the end of term 1. We believe this will showcase the talent of our sport at a school level that has not be seen before, a true celebration of school rowing.

Rowing NSW is also excited to announce that we will be hosting the 2021 Australian Masters Rowing Championships in late May, the first time the event has been in NSW since 2015.

A regatta forum will once again be held with details to be distributed shortly.
