2022 Australian Rowing Championships Interstate Regatta | NSW Wrap Up | Single Scullers, Lightweights & Youth 8s

Last week saw 560 athletes from NSW venture to Lake Nagambie for the 2022 Australian Rowing Championships (ARC). With assistance from coaches and support staff our athletes brought home a multitude of medals and trophies throughout the week with many successes from both club and school levels. The final day of racing made way for the 2022 Interstate Regatta with some of the best racing conditions of the week.
Interstate Women's PR3 Single Scull
Sunday's racing began with the Interstate PR3 Single Scullers, which saw Lisa Greissl (LMRC) claim silver in a strong race just behind Victorian Jessica Gallagher with ACT's Rebecca Jones taking home bronze.

James Talbot (SUBC) pushed through for silver behind a convincing win from ACT's Nick Neales with Queensland's Mac Russell securing bronze.

Interstate Women's Single Scull - Nell Slatter Trophy
Excitement was felt throughout the race for the Nell Slatter Trophy as Harriet Hudson (SRC) pushed past Queensland's Lily Alton at the 1000 metre mark to finish with a time of 8:10.81 as Harriet claimed first place, holding true to NSW's position in the event since 2019.

David Bartholot (SUBC) also displayed a convincing win for the President's Cup almost six seconds ahead of ACT's Caleb Antill and Victoria's Redmond Matthews.

Interstate Women's Lightweight Quadruple Scull - Victoria Cup
An incredible effort from the NSW Interstate Lightweight Quad Scull saw the crew of Eve Timms (DRC), Amelia Cooper (UTS), Michaela Franz (UTS), Sophie Jerapetritis (ANU) secure silver against Tasmania who took out their third consecutive win in the Victoria Cup with Queensland taking bronze.

Interstate Men's Lightweight Coxless Four - Penrith Cup
The Interstate Men's Lightweight Four then saw a fantastically fast-finishing NSW crew of Peter Waldersee (UTS), Michael McCrea (UTS), Wyatt Batt (SUBC) and Harry Curtin (UTS) take silver just 2.27 seconds behind Queensland's crew who defended their 2021 Penrith Cup title.

Interstate Women's Youth Eight - Bicentennial Cup
NSW shone brightly with both Interstate Youth Eights claiming gold in what were some close margins for competing crews. The NSW WY8+ of Liesel Page (SRC), Evie Thomson (SRC), Talisa Knoke-Driver (SRC), Tayla Kerpiniotis (UTS), Caitlin McManus-Barrett (SRC), Isabella Scammell (SRC), Grace Sypher (SRC), Grace Turner (SUBC) and coxswain Hannah Cowap (SRC) put in an almighty effort for the Bicentennial Cup with a +7.73 second margin ahead of Queensland's silver and +10.04 second's ahead of Victoria's bronze.

Interstate Men's Youth Eight - Noel F Wilkinson Trophy
Following the WY8+ win, the MY8+ displayed a fantastic row across the course to claim gold with a very close margin between first and second place. The NSW MY8+ consisted of Declan Glendinning (SRC), Nikolas Pender (MRC), William Delaney (SRC), Miles Harrold (NEPN), Hamish Danks (SUBC), Max Von Appen (UTS), Henry Ryan (SUBC), Bradley Graham (SRC) and coxswain Tess Harris (SRC) who secured the Noel F Wilkinson Cup with +4.64 seconds in front of Queensland and +6.79 seconds in front of Victoria.
