The Clarence River hosted the regatta in 2017 and 2019 and the 2022 installment will take place with the heats being contested on Monday 21st February and the finals on Tuesday 22nd February. It will be the 12th time that the regatta has been held on the Grafton Rowing Club course which finishes off Prince Street near the heart of the city.

Clarence Valley Council Mayor, Dr Ian Tiley said “it’s terrific to have a rowing event in our Sports Tourism Program.

“We are proud to sponsor the Rowing Championship as it promotes the Clarence River and boosts the local economy,” Dr Tiley said.

Rowing NSW CEO, Margot Harley said, “it is great to see the NSW Combined High Schools Rowing Championships back in Grafton after a few tough years for our sport. The opportunity to showcase the amazing Clarence River to a diverse group of schools is paramount to growing the sport of rowing in regional areas, particularly those that have been hit hardest by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.”
