2022 NSW Masters Championships Announcement

Published Mon 28 Mar 2022

Rowing NSW (RNSW) has received advice from Clarence Valley Council that the city of Grafton is unable to host the 2022 NSW Masters Championships due to riverbank redevelopment delays and flood recovery efforts.

Alternative venues able to host the Championships on a minimum 8 lane course for all boat classes have been assessed and RNSW is pleased to announce Manning River at Taree as the new location for the 2022 NSW Masters Championships.

RNSW CEO Margot Harley said: "Naturally, we are disappointed to be unable to bring the 2022 NSW Masters Championships to Grafton for the first time since 2010.

I know that our rowing community was looking forward to racing on the Clarence River and we hope to be back in Grafton in the near future. We are looking forward to working with Manning River Rowing Club to bring this regatta to the community having not being able to host the event for the last two years."

It will be the 5th time that the regatta takes place on the Manning River at Taree, the first being in 1994 and most recently in 2007, which was part of the clubs' 50th anniversary celebrations.

Dates for the 2022 NSW Masters Championships remain the same with racing to occur on Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May 2022.
