2022 NSW Schoolgirl & Schoolboy HOTR | UPDATE

Published Mon 14 Mar 2022

Rowing NSW has received an update for the Sydney International Regatta Centre Management Team regarding water quality test undertaken in the last week. The tests, undertaken by the Department of Planning and Environment showed levels of faecal coliforms well above the safe levels with the water not fit for primary or secondary recreation as outlined in the National Health and Medical Council of Australia’s Guidelines for managing risks in recreational water | NHMRC. These levels are expected to remain elevated for some weeks.

Additionally the water level at the venue remain elevated with little decline over the past week.

Rowing NSW’s strong desire is to deliver a successful and safe event for all athletes. Based on the factors outlined and the unknown timeline related to these, Rowing NSW has made the decision to relocate the Combined Senior Schoolgirl and Schoolboy Head of the River to Iron Cove. This regatta will still take place on Saturday 26th March.
