2023 NSW Masters Championships | Wrap

Part 1 of the Masters Extravaganza has concluded with the 2023 NSW Masters Championships. In what was a perfect curtain raiser for finale of the 2022-23 regatta calendar, the weekend was a battle of the elements with strong wind impacting racing on Sunday. We turn our attention now to the 2023 Australian Masters Rowing Championships where the countries Masters cohort descend on SIRC, with racing underway in only 9 days’ time.

Rowing NSW would like to thank our volunteers for the great work undertaken in trying conditions. The decision to canel races and remove boat holders was made due to safety concerns. We do not make such decisions lightly and we appreciate and thank everyone's understanding. If you have any questions, please direct to Rowing NSW. The organisation is a partner for the Shoosh for Kids campaign which encourage positive spectator behaviours. It was excellent to see all athletes get out there and battle through the tough and slow conditions.

For all the photos from the weekend visit the Rowing NSW Flickr Page or the Colette Harkin on Flickr who made the trip up from Canberra and got some amazing shots of the racing and podium over the weekend.

With the provisional schedule now up on the dedicated AMRC regatta page get excited for what will be a festival of Masters rowing next weekend and we are counting down the days till the green light of that first race at 8:30am next Thursday.
