2023 RNSW Spring Regatta Recap

The 2023-24 season is now in full swing after the 2023 Spring Regatta at SIRC on Saturday. It was a beautiful spring morning with perfect conditions for racing but it all turned after lunch with a massive head breeze causing chaos. With the Men's B Single facing the brunt of the conditions as times blew out to over 10 minutes for the 2000m races. To not dishearten our athletes too early into the season the call was made that the last few 2k races would be reduced to 1k. The conditions created some close racing with an emphasis on putting together as many clean strokes as possible - easier said than done! With some interesting bow number holding strategies in the breeze

Massive thank you has to go to the BRO's, boat driver and all the volunteers who without them our regattas are not possible. Great to see to Bont Rowing, Pontoon and Perfect Balance out at the regatta and we look forward to seeing them throughout the season.
