A Sport Through the Ages, Both On & Off Water

It has been a big week at Newcastle Rowing Club, a small community sporting club at Carrington run fully by volunteers. 

Susan Kemp, 72 took out BRONZE at the 2022 World Indoor Rowing Championships in the early hours of Sunday 27 February. Susan and her husband Peter, qualified to represent Oceania in the recent Championships hosted by World Rowing as a fully virtual event across 66 countries. 

They arose early, around 2am on Sunday to take on the world from their home in Newcastle, NSW. They were pleased to be racing in such a large event with over 800 other competitors in various categories.
