Active Kids and Rowing NSW Memberships

Published Tue 03 Jul 2018

Rowing NSW is registered as an Active Kids provider, meaning juniors and youths have the ability to use their Active Kids voucher to cover part or all of their Rowing NSW membership fees.

The NSW Government has introduced the Active Kids program to encourage kids to get active.  The program gives the ability for parents or guardians to apply for a voucher that can be used to offset costs associated with fitness participation, membership etc.  The voucher is available each calendar year that the program runs and is for an amount of up to $100 per child.

Rowing NSW is set up to accept Active Kids Vouchers to cover the cost of Rowing NSW memberships.  The process works as follows:

  1. Parents or Guardians apply for an Active Kids voucher.
  2. Complete the Rowing NSW online membership form
  3. When moved to the payment portal, you have the ability to pay via the Active Kids voucher or the usual Credit Card method.  Select Active Kids and input the full name of the voucher recipient and the 16 digit voucher number.  Regional Junior membership is valued at $50 and Metropolitan Junior membership is valued at $65.  Vouchers may only be used once and with one provider.  Any unused amount will be forfeited.

If you are over 18 at the time of renewing/applying for your Rowing NSW membership, you would fall into either the Regional Competitor or Metropolitan Competitor membership categories valued at $75 and $110 respectively.  The Regional Competitor membership would be covered in full by the voucher.  Metropolitan Competitor membership would use the entire $100 from the voucher and a $10 membership upgrade would be required which can be done via the Rowing NSW shop.

Any clubs or schools wishing to do bulk RNSW memberships using Active Kids vouchers can email membership names, voucher name and voucher numbers to owen@rowingnsw.asn.au for processing.
