Air Quality Update | Rowing NSW Reindeer Regatta

Published Fri 06 Dec 2019

RNSW wishes to advise all athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, schools, clubs and all others attending the Rowing NSW Reindeer Regatta this Saturday 7th December 2019 that the Air Quality Index (AQI) forecast for tomorrow is POOR and may worsen.

As per the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment recommendations on Air Quality Index, sensitive groups (people with heart or lung disease, older adults and children) are advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activities.

Rowing NSW therefore advises any athlete that fall into this category NOT to compete in the regatta. The Reindeer Regatta will proceed but air quality will be monitored throughout the day. Racing may be called off if conditions worsen.
