Air Quality Update | Rowing NSW Sprint Championships

Published Sat 07 Dec 2019

Rowing NSW wishes to advise those attending the Sprint Championships tomorrow that the Air Quality Index forecast for tomorrow is POOR and may worsen.
As per the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment recommendations on Air Quality, sensitive groups (people with heart or lung disease, older adults and children) are advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
Rowing NSW advises any athlete that falls into this category to NOT to compete in the regatta.
The Sprint Championships will proceed but air quality will be monitored throughout the day. Racing may be called off if conditions worsen.
