Announcement | Appointment of Rowing NSW CEO

Rowing NSW is delighted to announce the appointment of the new Chief Executive Officer for Rowing NSW.

Melissa Ashton-Garard has accepted the role and will commence her position from 1 December 2022. "We are pleased to appoint Melissa to the role of Rowing NSW Chief Executive Officer," said Rowing NSW President Stephen Donnelley. "Melissa has over 25 years’ experience in the sport and recreation industry most recently as Head of Operations NSW Office of Sport. The Board is excited to see Melissa take over the helm and lead RNSW
for our members.”

Melissa’s appointment follows an extensive recruitment process that attracted a strong group of applicants.

On accepting the role, Melissa said “I am delighted to lead Rowing NSW and build on its rich history. I look forward to increasing accessibility to rowing as a sport for all and am excited to work with the rowing community to share and celebrate the success of rowing now and into the future.”

“As we welcome Melissa I would also like to extend on behalf of all the rowing community our appreciation to Margot Harley, for the leadership she provided over the past four and a half years. On behalf of the Board and our members we thank Margot for her enormous contribution to our organisation and sport. We wish Margot well in her new role” said Rowing NSW President Stephen Donnelley.
