ARC 2023 Day 4 Wrap

Published Fri 31 Mar 2023

From the first finals race in the U17W1x it was a golden morning for NSW clubs at #ARC23 with Addison Roles from SUBC leading the field to take Gold. With Jack Power (UTS) only minutes later winning the U19M1X.

One of the victories of the day had to go to Freya Neville (SRC) and Stefanie Preller (SUBC) in the U21W2- holding off MUBC by 0.82 in a dramatic final 250 metres

It was also a full podium of NSW clubs in the U21W1x with Sophia Whiteman (SUBC) 🥇, Sarah Fahd (UTS) 🥈 and Laura Sypher (SRC)🥉 putting in a strong case for national representation.

That winning feeling continued in the senior events with SUBC taking out the Open Men's Pair with Marcus Britt and Alex Purnell walking away with a dominant victory. The same can be said for Tara Rigney who won the Open Women's Single Scull on her birthday!! 🎂

Harrison Nichols put in a big performance in tough conditions to take out the Men's PR3 1x. We look forward to seeing him race on Sunday for NSW in the Interstate Regatta.

We also saw another full podium of NSW clubs this time in the U21LW1X with Laura Sypher (SRC) adding to her 🥉 from earlier in the morning with a dominant performance to take Gold. With Phobe Teale (SUBC) 🥈 and Milly Cooper (UTS) 🥉 rounding out the podium.

After day 4 Sydney University are sitting pretty on top of the medal tally with UTS Haberfield not too far behind in 4th and Sydney Rowing Club in 6th.

Plenty of finals in medium boats and schoolboy and schoolgirl events on today. Check out the Livestream to keep up to date on all the action.
