Rowing NSW launches Community Crew Program

Published Fri 23 Oct 2020

Rowing NSW is excited to launch our inaugural community focused Indoor Rowing Initiative - Community Crew. Community Crew, born out of the NSW Governments Her Sport Her Way Strategy aims to get more females young and old to start indoor rowing for fun and fitness. Delivered by clubs throughout NSW, the Community Crew program offers group exercise classes that combine indoor rowing with circuit-based exercises for females to do in the comfort of female company at the local rowing club in their local area.

Rowing NSW is passionate about increasing participation in our sport and sharing the many benefits that come with indoor rowing that can contribute to healthier and more engaged local communities. Rowing NSW believes that women and girls that participate in this program will realise significant physical, psychological and social benefits.

Community Crew is currently being piloted with Balmain Rowing Club who will be hosting the first 7 week program at the start of November 2020. Click here for more details about this program. The future aim for this initiative is to allow all clubs throughout NSW to take this program and use it in their own communities to ultimately make use of club assets and assist with getting new people to try indoor rowing.
