Penrith keep turning on the sun and keeping the wind on the other side of the mountains with only a little puff of a breeze making its way across as the sun was setting. It was an exciting afternoon with the interstate racing one for the ages! With some absolutely electric racing coming down to the wire. It was a tough afternoon to be a New South Welshman, with our hopes high after a brilliant display by Kevin Wall in the MM PR3 1x with tough viewing to come afterwards. It was some really tight racing for medals in all of the big boats with the ISM4x falling short of a medal by 0.17 of a second!

After much discussion about the course length leading into the interstate racing South Australia had a lightening start in the ISM8+ chasing down the 4 second handicap Tasmania had. NSW were able to claw back and lead into the 2nd half of the race but the South Australians woke up again in the final 250 to break the souls of NSW hearts with a margin of 0.2 of a second. Daren Potts now the hottest property in the coaching market after a famous SA victory. In was also a close margin in the ISW8+ with NSW claiming a bronze missing out in Silver in a tight tussle the entire way down the course with Victoria.

Great to have see our NSW athletes wearing their zooties with pride and we congratulate them on all their hard work and sacrifices to make it to this level and we look forward to seeing it all again in Tasmania.
