Individual Athletes Scholarship Program (IAP)

Published Wed 08 Aug 2018

The Southern Sports Academy provides individual scholarships to athletes based in Southern NSW, across a wide range of sports. This year, the Southern Sports Academy is again providing an Individual Athlete Program (IAP) to broaden the reach of their programs and to ensure the athletes that are deserving of support, receive that support.

The IAP is designed to support athletes who continue to work tirelessly at achieving higher representation in their chosen sport but are not able to access the financial backing that athletes in ‘wealthy’ sports are able to access.

The IAP has also been a major player in assisting a number of Riverina based athletes that have gone on to national representation including Jada Whyman (Soccer – Wagga) and Carly Salmon (Track and Field – Wagga). Other significant Individual Athlete Program scholarship recipients include Meg Senior (Swimming – Wagga) and Krystal Cheesely (Fencing – Wagga).

Attached is an application form for the IAP which includes the criteria and the benefits to be obtained. The form will also be available for download via The Southern Sports Academy website (www.ssa.-nsw.org.au).

A closing date of September 7th for receipt of all applications is in place. A map of the area can be found on the SSA website at http://www.ssa-nsw.org.au/what-we-do/.
