Iron Cove Bay Marine Geotechnical Drilling 10 January - 14 February 2022

Acciona Ferrovial Joint Venture (AFJV) has been awarded the contract to deliver 11 kilometres of twin metro rail tunnels between Sydney Olympic Park and The Bays and excavate five new metro stations for the Sydney Metro West Project.
As part of the early investigative work for tunnelling, AFJV have scheduled some marine geotechnical drilling work in Iron Cove Bay from 10 Jauary 2022 to 14 February 2022. One rig only will work across the four locations from east to west and spend 5-10 days (depending on conditions) at each location.
This work has been approved by the Ports Authority Harbourmaster. Standard marine safety requirements such as signage, 25m exclusion marker buoys and flashing navigation lights will be in place (see below PDF for full work notification).
AFJV are aware of the Roseville College Regatta on 5 Februaury and Balmain Rowing Club Regatta on 6 February 2022. AFJV intend to be finished by or more the barge clear of the main channel (as per Balmain Rowing Club Regatta course diagram) for that weekend depending on progress.
