Lismore Rowing Club Flood Recovery Update

Published Thu 21 Apr 2022

Rowing NSW wishes to provide an update with regard to Lismore Rowing Club's flood recovery as detailed by their Club Secretary, Mark McMahon.

'On behalf of Lismore Rowing Club, I would like to thank you all for your generous donations to our club. On 28th February, the region experienced the biggest flood it has ever seen. The damage to our boats and the clean up was demoralising.

Our boats departed the shed in a skip bin not a trailer. Over two thirds of our storage racks were bare. After reaching out to Rowing NSW for assistance, the wider rowing community responded. You gave and then gave some more. Thank you to Rob Glendenning and his family for offering to collect the donated boats and drive them to Lismore. Our small group of available boat loaders were all beaming with gratitude.

Thank you for your boat donations and your generosity of spirit.'
- Mark McMahon

It is great to see our wider NSW rowing community rally together to assist a club in need. Rowing NSW are grateful to have such kind and charitable members within the community and we wish to thank those members that have donated their time and resources in to helping Lismore Rowing Club with their flood recovery.
