Nominations Open | RNSW State Team Selectors

Nominations are now sought for members of the Rowing NSW State Selection Panel. This arises as a result of the usual two (2) year rotation of the state team selectors.

The role of the State Selection Panel is:

(a) Select such representative rowers, scullers, coxswains and coaches for such interstate and/or international races as they shall be directed by the Board of Directors from time to time, and shall make such recommendations to the Board as they deem to be in the interest of the sport and its promotion.

(b) At the conclusion of each season, the Selectors shall nominate to the Board their recommendations for Oarsman and Oarswoman of the Year, Coxswain of the Year and Coaches of the Year in accordance with By Law 2.9.1 (b). Ideally, nominees for this position should have recent experience in some of the following:

• Coaching at elite level
• Competition at elite level
• Management of elite athletes and coaches
• Be familiar with current national rowing trends
• Have strong analytical skills

The successful nominees must:

• Attend meetings as required by the Chairman of the Competition Commission from time to time
• Attend regattas and crew training sessions as required from time to time as directed by the Chairman of the Competition Commission
• Attend key selection events for the class of crews they may be responsible for selecting including RNSW Small Boat Regatta, RNSW State Championships and/or scheduled seat racing.
