NSW Athletes in the Australian Under 23 Rowing Team

Eight rowers and four coaches from NSW clubs have been selected in the Australian Under 23 Rowing Team to compete at the World Under 23 Rowing Championships to be held in Poznan, Poland from the 25th to 29th of July 2018.  

Harriet Hudson, who won a silver medal in the Quad Scull last year, has been selected in the Double Scull with Ria Thompson of Mercantile Rowing Club.  Harriet's coach at Sydney Rowing Club, Donovan Cech has been selected as the coach of the crew.

UTS Rowing Club's Georgina Masters was a finalist in the Lightweight Quad scull in 2017 and reunites with Verayna Zilm in the lightweight double scull this year and will be coached by WAIS Head Coach, Rhett Ayliffe.  Wallis Russell (Sydney University) was also part of the 2017 Lightweight Quad Scull and is again part of the team, this time in the Lightweight Single Scull with Sydney University's Alfie Young as coach.

After sweeping all before them domestically at under 23 level, Andrew Judge and Jack O'Brien will race the Coxless Pair, having been selected with their Sydney University Boat Club Coach, Don McLachlan.  McLachlan will also coach the Lightweight Men's Double Scull of Matthew Curtin (UTS) and Leon Chambers (Sydney University).  Sean Murphy will race the Lightweight Men's Single Scull and is coached by Matthias Ungemach, also from Mosman Rowing Club.
