Rowing NSW 2021-2022 Regatta Calendar Update

Published Fri 29 Oct 2021

Rowing NSW is excited that the majority of our community has been able to return to the water and are busy training their way back to race fitness. The team at Rowing NSW has been working with clubs and schools to ascertain what regattas we will be able to hold practically and safely in the lead up to the Christmas break to give the community some racing opportunities. As such we wish to update everyone on the current status of scheduled regattas.

This information is in line with current COVID-19 resitrictions and may change at short notice. Community Sport Competitions of up to 1,000 fully vaccinated individuals are now allowed for members of the community that are fully vaccinated or under the age of 16 until December 1.

Note: The 28/11/2021 Loreto Kirribilli Regatta has been cancelled as of  2/11/2021.

With restrictions still in place for many school programs in relation to training and competitions the majority of school regattas have unfortunately been cancelled by the regatta hosts. Due to the early timing of the Independent Schools Championships and current restrictions in place at SIRC as well as the majority of participating schools not able to compete, Rowing NSW has unfortunately had to cancel the Independent Schools Championships for this season.

We are also working through regattas scheduled for December, which should be able to run with minimal restrictions and will at this stage be open to all members of the community, regardless of vaccination status.
