Vale Charles David Bartlett

On the 3rd August 2022 Charles Bartlett passed away due to cancer.  (1956-2022)

Charles was an inspiration to have around. His energy rubbed off on everyone to encourage them to make the best of themselves. His bigger than life personality always made a room feel full and welcoming.

As a president at Leichhardt Rowing Club he guided us to create largely what you see today. His mentoring both on and off the water inspired us all. He was always approachable whatever the issue. He taught us much about how to live our lives. His passion to win and do your best was very infectious.

Twice World Champion in the Light Weight Four for Australia speaks for itself. He gave back to the sport at every level, from representing Australia, Olympic selector, Rowing Australia Director, President of Melbourne Uni Rowing Club and finally with us at Leichhardt.

We will all miss him deeply. His memory will be with us forever.

Our thoughts are with his wife Sally and the family.

One elite rower and eight believers. What a journey it was. Over 20 years of mate ship; unforgettable and irreplaceable!
