Vale: John Astley

Rowing NSW sadly wishes to advise of the passing of John Astley last Thursday, 4th October 2018, aged 83 years. In 2001 John commenced as a Boat Race Official and volunteered his time and expertise at numerous regattas each season over the next decade.  John was instrumental in recruiting close friends John Carroll and Richard Stokes to becoming Boat Race Officials, with all 3 regularly seen working together at regattas.

Vale: Lee Chaumont

Rowing NSW is saddened by the passing of Lee Chaumont after a long fight with cancer.  Lee passed away on Saturday 6th October 2018, aged 61 years. A member of Nepean Rowing Club where a single scull is named the "Lee Chaumont", Lee competed for Nepean up until 2015 and has been a regular volunteer in recent years.  Lee was renowned for her incredible accuracy, matched with her calm and friendly demeanour, while at work timekeeping at regattas at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.

LATEST GRANT: Local Sporting Champions

The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.

ASC Mentor Training Course

The next Mentor Training Course being conducted by the Office of Sport will be held on Sunday, 18 November 2018.
